We are John and Judy, plus our three boys and black and white collie, Elkie.

John spent his working life as an Engineer in various parts of the world and retired from work in the City 17 years ago.

He developed the barns from semi-derelict, working buildings as a retirement project for holiday use.

However, they have formed our home for the last 10 years as our boys have gone through their schooling at Kelly College in Tavistock.

Apart from major structural work, he created the building complex single-handedly, with a little help here and there from the family.

Judy started out in teaching before having a family, and then moved into counselling. She is a watercolour artist and her paintings can be seen on her website: judybarnes.co.uk
