Your stay

The main living-space is a large, open room, with a high-beamed ceiling, and two en-suite bedrooms downstairs with stable doors opening on to an enclosed yard. The second barn houses two further bedrooms and the kitchen. The third barn is Judy’s art studio with a bedroom upstairs.

The garden is mostly open field but there is a cultivated, terraced area near the barns with a variety of secluded places to sit and soak up the peace and quiet. We are only overlooked by sheep and cattle grazing in the neighbouring field and a diversity of bird life overhead.

Buzzards are regular visitors and, with luck, you may also see the peregrine falcons that nest in the nearby quarry. Behind us there is a beautiful wood with traces of badger and deer where you may walk in safety and catch glimpses of Bodmin moor as well as many views of Dartmoor.

A car is essential if you are intending to be out and about. However, by special arrangement, we can pick you up from Exeter, St.Davids, from the train – an hour away - or at Okehampton from the bus, 15 minutes away.

Transport
Public transport is spasmodic and only from Chillaton, which is 2 miles away. This is our nearest village with a shop and local pub. We are well served with pubs nearby, providing a variety of good food and differing prices but, again, a car is necessary. Tavistock has a supply of restaurants, take-aways and cafes.
